The corporate papers have value only if the company is debt free. Otherwise, the buyer (the new business) will have to pay back the debt. In the case of BXMNF, the law suit liability is in hundreds of millions.

As for the reason why the stock is stil trading, my guess is that the stock broker will buy from their client, with price just enough to cover the commission. By that, the client can make tax write off without problem.

My apology for not digging deeper about current trading in Solv Ex and BXMNF.
