We'll see. It could also result in many websites going dark, including SI. Depending on how the carriers implement it. Am expecting to see a rate hike from Netflix very soon from this.

Long overdue. Heavy data users should bear the freight for taking up more cyber space.

My reading of it, though I have not done much, is that it gives faster lanes to companies like Amazon and Netflix. So rather than treat the internet as a basic utility, which it certainly is, the courts will treat it as a commercial enterprise. Not only will rates go up but slow will get slower, relatively. We will now have an internet for folk with money and one for folk without much money.

This isn't due to pressure from citizens. It's due to pressure from greedy corporations. Why do you care how much bandwidth someone uses, if it doesn't affect you?
