I listened to most of the cc and thought that the guys did a decent job of explaining what was going on. They were happy with DLT and thought that dd pricing pressures would not get any worse and should improve going forward. Expected next quarter earnings to be an improvement over this quarter, for me a very important point.
Sounded like businessmen trying to explain to wall street that life is not linear.
All in all, a reasonable presentation. Satisfied me that there is a real business under the stock certificate and good prospects down the road.
Too bad I'm in at 26 but don't see any reason to believe that the world has come to an end.
Indicated that they would have additional forward guidance with the January release.
I was mildly encouraged by cc. They noted their channel inventory was within normal range and oem sales very strong. Also that the industry seemed to be self-correcting its supply problems now.
I would characterize it as mildly upbeat.

re: Bad news is all out - that's good.

Let's hope!!! I hate to bring it up but we haven't heard from Seagate or RDRT yet. I don't see how Seagate won't disappoint if Quantum is going to. Has Seagate announced the magnitude of the charge for closing down their new plant?
