You're right about the abusive power of some policemen. I've heard horror stories of policemen who have taken advantage of their power, and the person is left with nothing they can do about it. The police always have the upper hand, and the person has to suck it up.

That said, I'm in charge of our neighborhood watch and our police department is wonderful! We are a new city and when they hired their police, they got the crème da la crème..Everyone they hired has "swat" training and they all have quite a bit of experience. When I call them for anything related to our neighborhood, they come immediately and handle any and all problem.

When the woman's boyfriend shot her husband when he was coming out of the daycare, the Dunwoody police caught the man within a week, but the county took the case away from them to try it in the county court. The woman is in jail for lying to the police, but I believe that if they had left it with the Dunwoody police, they would have convicted her for conspiracy....
