I certainly hope Bob can reach a deal with ABC that he can be happy with. I would hate to listen to the fools, sell my funds, not worry about a bear market and buy some stocks like KO for the next 40 years. Since I'm not a generation Xer like the fools I might do better with life insurance or nursing home insurance forty years from now. Anyway whether on the air or thru Marketimer I certainly hope Bob's around to show his stuff when the bear finally comes and Mr. Bowtie, Michael the bear, Jim grant and others explode out of hibernation though they'll probably have turned bullish then.

Don,

Should Bob have some additional time on his hands next year, perhaps you could convince him to participate (more frequently) in this forum?

As for the Motley Fools, despite some of the criticism voiced here, I think they are refreshing, engaging, entertaining and informative, four qualities sorely lacking from previous guest hosts. No, I do not buy all of their investment philosophy, nor do I buy all of Bob's ( I like stocks over funds and have the returns to justify it), but, given the lack of intelligent financial commentary on the air, present company excluded, the Fools are a welcome substitute for their occasional appearances.

Naturally, I would prefer Bob over the Fools, but apparently that's not up to me. If it were, I'd have Bob call me every morning for a 30 minute chat about the markets. What are the chances?

Allan

Don,

Please relay to Bob that besides his wonderful advice, I get alot out of his other comments as well, maybe even more. You see, I am in semi critical mass as I Choose to live in Los Altos, CA and work in the high tech field rather than retire somewhere cheaper and with a slower paced life. 40 is too young and I am having too much fun. In 1996 I heard Bob discuss the tobacco industry and his views that besides reaching critical mass, one ought to spend just as much effort on maintaining good health which included being a nonsmoker. That might have been the last piece of ammunition I needed to give up a 23 yr habbit. Bob's simple statement just made so much sense to me. I smoked my last butt near the end of 1996 and will soon have 1 yr smoke free. That year, I have good memories of Bob discussing good health and the DOW Dogs.

This yr I've ridden my new mtn bike up the highest peak in the county, swam an open water 1.2 Mile swim race and yesterday I ran 5Km - the first time I've run more than a mile in over 20 yrs. My "investment" returns have been wonderful, especially the ones in my health. I hope Bob continues to remind his listeners just how important their health is so they can spend their money before they die on fun stuff.

thanks
Kirk out

Would a write-in campaign work to keep Brinker on the air? In your opinion, does ABC need to hear from listeners? Do you have an address, person or email that we could contact??

Thanks, R. Scherb

Don,
Rearding Bob's contract renewal by ABC. Do you have an address to write or e-mail, to voice their oppinion about BB. I for one will stop listening to Money Talk if the Fools take over.
