Paul Engel. Re: Scott McNeely. My take is that he is pushing the NC and Java to get back at Gates. I see a lot of hype about Java but no real impact on the market yet. Also SUNW seems to me to be very vulnerable to the Wintel onslaught (See: HWP, Digital, and Silicon Graphics). Scott should be minding that store and not pitching the NC. (I see a parallel with Ellison there.)

The NC makes sense but only if Windows is on the server, since there is a need for a universal "language" that all machines can "speak". Why invent a new language everybody can speak when 90% of all the PC's speak Microsoft?

By the way I don't own any MSFT and don't agree with the way they are throwing their weight around in the browser area.
