cuv.to - lots of opposition to that, here's just one -

azminingreform.org

duck it - duckduckgo.com

Curis is an HD production so i've never taken much interest, only noticed enough to see what problems they'll have in permitting ... solution mining for copper means they saturate the ground with sulphuric acid, over eight pounds per pound of Cu recovered according to the min.v release, well no one is making it clear how you'd clean up the water table afterwards, or keep it from spreading during operation - groundwater movement is not completely predictable anywhere, and if a solution will percolate within a deposit, what's to keep it from percolating away, hmm

That's dry country, usable water at a premium ... check out Gunnison on google maps, an hour or less out of Tuscon, see those green circles and squares just to the east of it? - that's irrigated land, farmers will be among those seeing an acid-saturation project as a threat ... so before you count your ultimate pay-off chickens, you have to see how they plan to contain the acid solution, and even more important - how do you convince people they can contain it, and keep it contained

Lots of copper around there, no doubt of that, not far to the southwest is Cananea in Sonora, famous mine that inspired a song or three that have been part of mexican culture for a century now, known even way down south in Chiapas where its situation gets mentioned in polemics du jour ... no end of metal, for sure, but i ask myself, do i want to fight the locals where they're likely to be strongly opposed, mmm, not really, so checking out all the consequences to neighbours at Gunnison would be crucial imho ... at least it's not under a town and on an important river like the HD Florence AZ thing, still there will be more to the story
