Hi Kids- As far as I know "OIL" is still selling handsomely, all over the world! Worst case: Arakis is bought out or sells out for $5, $7, $10, or $12/share - I don't know! LONDON, Dec 11, Reuter - Sudan has condemned a meeting between U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and Sudanese rebel leader John Garang in Uganda, Sudanese television said. The television, monitored by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), quoted a Foreign Ministry source on Wednesday as saying that Sudan had long been aware of Washington's ''hostile intentions and provocative steps.'' Albright met Garang, leader of the Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA), on Wednesday and called for a new government in Khartoum, U.S. officials said. In a major show of public approval for the Sudanese opposition, Albright urged the SPLA and other groups to bury their differences and show that they could form a credible government. The television quoted the Foreign Ministry source as saying that the United States continued to undermine the prospects for peace ''by urging its agent, John Garang, to adopt a hard-line stand that is rejected by the Sudanese, such as the secessionist confederal system proposal.'' With Albright's meeting with Garang, the United States had ''abandoned its caution and ambiguity and exposed its true nature,'' the source said. In recent months, Washington has been turning up the heat on Khartoum, which one official accused of being a ''viper's nest'' of terrorist groups. Last month, the United States imposed economic sanctions on Sudan. Albright's meeting with Garang and five other representatives of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) umbrella group was Washington's highest level contact so far with Sudan's opposition. Garang wants a referendum on self-determination for southern Sudan. Sudan, divided between the largely Christian and black south and the Moslem and Arab north, should become a secular state, the SPLA says. REUTERS@ 23:58 12-10-97
