Mike,

My own opinion is that ERICY is avoiding supporting duplicative systems with marginal differences. Especially in light of the IS-95 royalty issue for one of the systems. ERICY had an enormous investment in GSM, and was loathe to begin supporting a competing system with a new set of costs, infrastructure, etc. Now, they have to deal with the situation as it exists, and I'm fairly confident that the growing market for telecommunication services will allow them to make a buck here and there for a while...

My hope is that the generational change to wideband systems is where they will pick up CDMA support, in one fashion or another.

I've also got to admit that G* has some compelling arguments going for it as well, assuming they can ever get into a user cost structure that is profitable for them and affordable for their customers. I just can't see paying $3,000 for a handset, and $3-$4 a minute to surf the net...
