Hopefully you are right. But the stock market in its many forms is an institution that will not easily give way to change. The hierarchy and methodologies are so well ensconced that those who are near the top can remain confidently smug in their prosperity to the point of allowing themselves to have open contempt for those with lesser knowledge. Over the last year I have learned that there are many levels of knowledge that are brought to bear and that close study is required in order to gain a fuller understanding of it all. I feel personal disdain for thinking that these forms of specialized knowledge are anywhere near paramount importance in day to day enjoyment of life and like Terence, I intend to put some distance between myself and this practice as soon as I settle a few more accounts. But I will always enjoy SI for the mix of clever and not so clever imposters as well as those who are totally sincere.
