What Faith? I see both Darwin and Jesus as just examples of two human beings expressing themselves effected & performing roles in the cultural mode of their times, one a rabbi & social reformer, an observer of his fellows. The other more the observer & commentator more to do with animals to which we are all inextricably related (which we share common ancestry that has evolved over a vast continuum of time ) . Blaming Darwin for traits of humanity & behaviors observed going back to prehistory, observed thruout nature, is rather stupid isn't it? Life is a great continuum, so you need "faith" to feel sunlight on your skin, to know which way the wind blows or water is wet or you are hungry? Or love your children & feel faithful to the land of your birth? You need "Faith" to see a simple rabbi from 2000yrs ago say, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter some kingdom of heaven ? What is reality, is that great continuum of endless reproduction, which we are just one tiny part of its expression in nature and that great experience called "Life". The call to love one another is something already demonstrated in Nature, over & over, everywhere a man looks, in the protecting love of the maternal caring of infants, Jesus did not invent or add anything that wasn't already there. Though the Israelite/Hebrews as we know are quite fond of Nature & animals & the land, so what's neew here that isn't shared by every other tribe of human beings? .(Perhaps the answers are all just too simple for human understanding, but when adding "God" into the mix doesnt add to or change what is just simply already there And you have to include Darwin, in fact, you have no choice, all human experience is valuable as it is shared and passed on, from what is the East, West, North & South of the world.)

Again, What God? If the same atrocities are happening under regimes with god or without god (which is more than the case) then there are forces here that are even more timeless, normalized of nature. If this happened with god overseeing, then the blind watchmaker is certainly back completely inplay, since that is the case, here we are, back to Darwin. But in talking of Darwin, we are talking more of that vast continuum of time that evolution points to & the relatedness of "life". What it took the Catholic religion 1800yrs to formulate, the theory of evolution just blew the doors off it. It was like Hubble discovering that first galaxy outside our own, then 100's more which is only the light from them, just reaching us.

You know, have met many scientists & professors and they often share one common trait and that they often like little children, curious and humble, like litttle children. So if according Jesus, it is most likely you are going to meet many of them in heaven, Darwin will have his own special heavenly study & wooden ship, Einstein will have his own beam of light, a little food for thought. How ironic, what was one of the more peaceful, thoughtful humans that ever lived, like Pythagoras absorbed in his work, created what led to the ultimate means of our instant annhilation. Your god has a sense of humor indeed, thats life, just matter & energy. But if not him, someone else would have eventually, we have nothing but time going forward, here on earth. Life is a continuum and what has been accomplished thru evolution going back, a long, long, long, long time.
