If you look at the long term relationship between the price of gold and the miners you'll see that gold is still quite high relative to the miners.

Yup this "decoupling" is a sure sign of strength and once the FOMC is out of the way the miners should continue stepping higher......

The sector was so beaten down and several ratios, ie gdx/gold; gdx/spx; etc etc were sitting at multi-year lows.

ST they should consolidate in here and come in heading into next week but who knows. Joe trader is late to the party as usual so they may not pull back as much as we want them to.
