"believes teachers should be able to carry machine guns in public schools" Ted, they often have 30 or more students in a class. They NEED the ability to put them ALL down, if necessary. I hear you........and what better way than with machine guns.

Our volunteers are on the front lines in this fight, and they’re making progress every day! The following is an account from our Pennsylvania state director, Jodi Ferris, who visited a PA state rep. to talk about the COS Project. Here’s what happened: When I walked into his office, the last thing I wanted to do was interrupt the discussion the representative was having with a member of his staff. I handed the information about the Convention of States Project as inconspicuously as possible to the representative, while offering a friendly apology for inadvertently walking in on his conversation. As I started to leave, the representative stopped me. He asked "Is this about that Article V thing?" I smiled and affirmed that it was. That is when he started telling me his story. When he originally heard of the Article V process, he was against it. He was concerned that a "constitutional convention" might "runaway." But he had received so many calls from his constituents wanting him to support a convention of the states, he knew he had to investigate further. He contacted a constitutional attorney (who, as far as I am aware, is not connected with the Convention of States Project). This attorney explained that an Article V convention (which is not a "constitutional convention") can in fact be limited, when the application is drafted to limit the scope of the convention. After the conversation, this representative decided he was not only going to represent his people by supporting a convention of the states, he began the process of drafting the application! All this took place before the Convention of States Project leadership was able to officially contact him - it all happened because people like you made those calls, and wrote those letters! My entire life, I have heard that government is too big and powerful for regular people to be able to make any difference. That is the biggest myth of all. "We the People, of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union..." We the People. That is what the Founding Fathers envisioned. Let’s stand on their shoulders, and use Article V of our Constitution to secure the blessings of liberty for ourselves and future generations!
