Yup. As a result, the best that can be said about them is that they aren't 59th, 60th, or 61st. I don't know why BC doesn't get a divorce.

Canadians are losing confidence in their leaders on matters of climate change, says a new survey.

Faith in government as the lead actor in addressing climate issues declined sharply to 53 per cent, down six points in the past year, says the survey released Monday.

At the same time, the belief that climate change is real and caused by humans is at its highest point in six years.

The survey was conducted by the Environics Institute for Survey Research along with the David Suzuki Foundation. Environics began tracking attitudes on climate issues six years ago.

Also on Monday, the European think-tank Germanwatch and Climate Action Network Europe also released its 2014 climate change performance index. The ratings take into account efforts countries have made to decrease emissions or to implement best-practice policies to tackle climate change.

The aim is to put pressure on countries that have failed to take bold action on climate protection.

Out of 61 countries, Canada was ranked 58th, the same position as last year.
