Check out the news out of GM Hughes today about the "push" technology being rolled out for DirecPC users. A user can have all the posts of a newsgroup downloaded onto his desktop at the time of his choosing, no phone line needed. Also, a number of popular sites have signed up to allow their content(news, business, etc.) to be "pushed" to users desktops, waiting for their perusal. This is the future. C* is gearing up for a more elaborate, but similar, system. Imagine if you were a sports fan, having the days results on your PC, with all the stats and video of key plays available at the click of a mouse, all without a phone connection. An e-mail system is coming soon from DirecPC. Your e-mail will be pushed to your PC when it arrives, or once a day, at your choosing. The endless wait while you "surf" will be a thing of the past. I can't wait(pun intended).
