This is optimistic...

Silver touched $6.00 in the active March 1998 contract on Wednesday evening, the highest price for the active silver contract since April 14, 1989.

Updated @ 7:15 p.m. EST, Wednesday, December 10, 1997.

COMMENTS OF THE DAY: Commodities, including precious metals, mostly rallied moderately on Wednesday, with silver attempting an upside breakout. A late morning selloff was later rejected by a sharp afternoon rebound, adding technical confirmation to the upward move. Gold rallied $3.70, silver surged 42.7 cents.
