Thirty five years ago I came to be casual friends with a Dago who ran a small truck farm and stand outside Seattle. He'd come first as a POW during WWII, was repatriated, later returned for citizenship.

He once noted that he'd left Italy to escape Fascism and it had followed him here. At the time I didn't really understand his statement, but a lot of subsequent reading has given it bright clarity. It's getting worse.

The USA continues devolving toward something with many uncomfortable parallels to Mussolini's vision. The natural progression is toward the nastiness the NAZI's represented. That nastiness becomes increasingly apparent under the current gang of thugs.

There are many among us who don't know enough history to recognize what's happening. They fell for aspirational rhetoric and remain unaware something quite different is being delivered.

Some are so dim they sling the terms fascist and NAZI at the Tea Party, unaware the Tea Party represents anti-fascism, anti-Naziism.
