Well Sam, we'll just have to disagree I suppose. Here is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. A person wonders onto SI, posts his first post on a thread called "View From the Center and Left" and receives this reply. siliconinvestor.com So you in opinion, that person is now fair game to be banned from the thread and trash-talked about in any nasty way the thread moderator wishes. You see Sam, it's not so much about you or me and what we can personally deal with, it's about the kind of culture SI should be. I'll make this last comment and let you have the last word if you choose. What's killing SI is not some feature the owners have installed, it's not an add banner or a drop down menu irritating members. It's the culture that has been allowed to degenerate over the years and accept, in some cases celebrate, nastiness on par with the old Yahoo boards. Improving SI means looking deeper at the root cause of why members leave. And why new ones may feel uninvited to stay and engage. Deal with that on a systemic level and the look-and-feel, along with the intelligence of the members who remain will shine through.
