Better not wish for that. The fossil fuel industry would die on the vine if that happened around the world.

Take that enthusiasm you show for the coal subs and apply it towards all the gov waste in renewables..

Doesn't sound smart especially when you consider that renewables will be around as long as the sun burns or humanity is still on the planet. You cannot say that about fossil fuels! It's all about the "finite" problem.

All the tech advancements can be incubated by the private sector until the gov gets its fiscal act together.

Virtually all "breakthroughs" in science have occurred as a result of federal money being spend in research labs here in the U.S. on many university campuses. Private industry is a drop in the bucket on that front.

You need to look more closely at that.
