"We've clearly established both are very weak on scripture and history." No rational person will dispute you on that. remember, too, that a lot of people simply milk the system in order to exploit the power of groupism. In behind all that "loyalty" there is a community of business people who publish business directories and the like so that they can operate "in-house" for the mutual benefit of one another. It is like one big family helping one another in a more organised fashion than happens for people without racial or sectarian loyalties and membership. Nothing wrong with that, mind you. It is evolution in action. Belonging to a group has great survival value. But we can do without all the phoney and uninformed proselytization they bring to the table--can't we?! ;-) And we certainly don't need them shooting off their mouths against teaching Science in our schools--Science that teaches our children how to survive in a world of increasing technology--a world which rewards honesty when assessing reality. Learning the sloppy habit of inventing superstitious explanations simply leads to any and all irrational (and unhelpful) attitudes.
