The World’s Largest Land Mammal Meet Paraceratherium, the largest land mammal to ever walk to Earth at 12 tons and 4.8 (16ft) meters to the shoulder. Related to modern day rhinoceroses, they were so big they didn’t need a horn to defend themselves. They lived in Eurasia and stripped trees of their leaves with their specially adapted front teeth.
