Greetings All:

Macworld has a new article about Iomega:

macworld.com:80/pages/december.97/News.4040.html

It is mostly old news. However, their take on the Noumai dispute is that it deals mainly with patent infringement.

Question for the veterans:
--------------------------

They say that in 1993 Noumai and Iomega were sued by Syquest because Noumai made and Iomega sold clones of Syquest's 44 megabyte and 88 megabyte disks. And, Syquest lost this case.

1. Is this true?

2. If so, how could we possibly win this lawsuit?

Mike

And, Spank & GM, if you are still in it, get over to the KLIC thread. Seems to be a little earnings warning...:O

>> whilst the Y2K 'problem' is indeed real, it is also a great opportunity to make
people worry; to make people buy stock in supposed 'solution providers', and not necessarily as
apocolyptic as some stock shills may wish you to believe <<

Bill -- Thanks for commenting on this. I'm trying to come in somewhere between unneccessary worry mongering and a Stick-Your-Head-Deeper-in-the-Sand-and-Make-It--Go-Away approach.

The problem is real.

And, yes there is a great deal of hype and shilling as a result....

But, there is also a vast middle ground in which, im(very)ho, a reasonble investor should ascertain the potential exposure to their particular holdings.

I'd love to hear offcially that KE and crew have squashed this bug flatter than syq's future earnings. I also want to know about their chain of suppliers which is why I keep mentioning the bezel problem and it's impact on Zip production.

Finally, I didn't think the release I posted was about getting the acct'ing dept's. straightened out, but about getting management to identify y2k impacts in their accounting procedures & reports i.e. "information believed to be material to....yada yada...."

[brilliant day dawning in the Rockies, storm's gone -- time to trackup some of the "secret" powder stashes today...ya'll do a good job of watching the tape, eh! Truff - considering the way your *OT*posts are going, I feel kind of silly about the email I sent you about LP's pic <g>]
