But you are right back posting the same sort of insincere garbage you always post. "Tell me: are the Jehovah Witnesses on your list of 35 thousand sects?" Firstly, you know it is not MY list. So stop misrepresenting. "Do they believe that Jesus is God?" They believe he is the son of god. "How about the dozens of Liberal denominations that teach Jesus was just a man? Are they on this list that you keep touting. Of course the answer is YES!" So what is your point? I already said that there are about 35,000 Christian sects who all believe they are in the inner circle of salvation! Every member of every such group could give an opinion as to what constitutes the essential basis of being a Christian. Many, if asked to name only one such basis, would probably say the Resurrection of Jesus. Some do not believe in the resurrection. I did not claim that many of these thousands and thousands of DEEP CHRISTIAN THINKERS were not more off the wall than others. It just happens to be a fact that millions of Christians think YOUR beliefs are idiotic and that you are going to go to Hell. And I think you are ALL loony...and should be going to SCHOOL! "The truth is that Jefferson fits right in with all these groups that you identify over and over again as "Christian". The truth is you are beating your tiny fists and your tinier intellect on a straw man once again. I stated in several posts that I had no problem with your inclusion of Jefferson as a Christian provided you acknowledge the historical fact that he did not believe there was anything supernatural or divine about Jesus. He rewrote the New Testament and took out all of "God's" words which suggested anything divine or supernatural. Why? Because he did not believe any of these words were the words of a god. "Jefferson was a Deist which means he believed in a Supernatural Creator God" Now you are contradicting his own words! Make up our minds, won't you! Jefferson said he was a CHRISTIAN! And he claimed that on the basis that he believed in the moral value of an ordinary (but exceptionally moral) man. So his CHRISTIAN religion had nothing to do with any gods!! "You would like nothing more than to see all Christians eliminated so you can build your own secular religious Utopia." You are speaking with dishonesty and hate. You know very well I do not want to see any Christians "eliminated". What an ill-conceived comment? You know I would like to see superstition give way to reason so that our species can survive--and survive with dignity. I have never advocated violence as a vehicle for this. You are being dishonest. Education is the gift that gives humanity hope. This is something I also wish on you--a little reading, a little study--a little insight.
