Wharfie, while the data provided by the Alarmist Settled Scientists is imperfect, as the judge said, it's good enough for government work. I don't feel the need to duplicate NIWA's work with a better system. They are a bit bung and biased, but more or less sort of okay, though they don't like regular people to check what they say - preferring to hide their "science" which is not the normal approach that actual scientists take. The data is in, near enough for government work, and the travesty is established scientific fact. It's going to be amusing to see the Alarmists wriggle and writhe. So far, they have said "the heat secretly escaped from where it wasn't to somewhere nobody can see it, where it is lurking ready to attack from deep ocean". They also have increased "We need more travesty time" from 5 years, to 10 years, to 15 years and that time is up. So they will have to go for 25 years or maybe 100 years for reality to come back on track with their models. But when even the bottom of the envelopes, which are as wide as the total temperature increase over the last 100 years, is not enough to contain reality, their precision is so bad as to be meaningless. They are inventing new theories such as "glaciation on New York is evidence of global warming" which is of course contrary to their "our children won't know what snow is" claim and other ideas which require that Settled Science was not actually settled at all but is needing a theoretical revamp to adapt to the new reality.
