Value, I think to anyone who has any knowledge of world markets and globalization and any degree of economics in there background, what you state is obvious. Asia doesnt have 1 problem, Asia has many problems and each country is dealing with a whole different set of problems which just makes it harder to understand and solve. This is not a problem which is going to be taken care of in 1-2 months, this is something that will take 3-5 years to work through.. However, as an investor/trader what do you do? Sit in bonds for 3 years? Its hard to know to go short, go long, stay out, stay in? Todays news was Korea.. but everyone who follows this situation knows Korea has been in serious trouble for a few months and especially in the news the past 2 weeks, BUT just yesterday did the impact really hit the markets. So whats a person to do?? Just from reading your 1st sentence of your statement, it sounds like you knew this was going to happen today, so in the future please tell us the day before to get in or out.

Im being somewhat sarcastic but its difficult trading in these markets and I think we are all aware as you say "things are bad in Asia". The next rumbling is that China will be next to go through this, so if you can tell us when its going to affect the U.S. Markets, Id love to know, because that will be a great time to go short. Thanx.
