Certainly the Canadians in Alberta are for them--for the most part. I think you are imposing you're values on them.

Additionally, the tar sand lands, by Canadian Law, are required to be restored to their previous condition much like we require coal mines here to do the same. Ever seen those restored coal lands with natural areas on them? And ;ease don't cite me all those Green reports that can't say it can't be done--we've already done it here.

Also you demonstrate, IMHO, (typical of US tar sand opposition) a little bit of holier than thou attitude that is belied by our own oil exploitation history when we just put up spindle tops and let the gushers blow and oil fall where it may. They're not doing anything we didn't do here, if not worse, in our own energy development.
