>I can't tell you how many times I've been accused of selfishness and avarice just because I believe in smaller government and keeping more of what you work for.

>This can only come from those who believe bigger government IS philanthropic and altruistic

Huh? I don't believe that government is philanthropic, nor altruistic. But it can be effective.

>income spectrum from saving?a) It punishes those who depend on unsteady incomes because during the years they are making more than their average, they pay higher tax rates. This especially applies to small business owners.

We've been through this... the examples you've given me are rare and have little impact on the real world. I ran some of your posts on this topic by an economist friend of mine a few weeks ago and he said that your examples were "basically winning the lottery." You have not shown me once that these sorts of people are in any great number.

>b) It makes sure that the middle class, especially those who have the best chance at becoming "rich," stays in the middle class, effectively killing class mobility.

Not at all. Once again, this applies to practically no one.

>c) It funds bigger government, which then has a vested interest in getting more and more people dependent on government programs like public health care (e.g. ObamaCare).

It has no such thing. "Government" is people. If they want to get rich, they basically have to leave it. And they don't get rich leaving it by doing things the rich don't want.
