Well, I think if we're going to do away with TP, why not go all the way back and just use the bare left hand for butt wiping? Wash afterwards, of course!

We followed the same "cloth diapers" approach that you did.

However, the "high heaven" factor was avoided by first flushing away the "solid contents" and then immersing the soiled garment in a bucket of Milton (?), or similar, with a tight fitting lid.

We saved a fortune when one considers the cost of a disposables where 10 to 12 were required per day.
