they are lying. a few years ago you could get a gal. of milk for 2.69 now 3.99, 18 eggs 2.00 now 3.69. look at the prices of steaks, fresh veggies and fruits. most have doubled in the last 5 years

Food and fuel have been deliberately kept out for several decades, if not, forever. But that 1.2-1.5% holds based on historical standards, even if those standards sucked to begin with. Does anyone have a stat that actually gets this right? -Z

so I can't explain the difference between what I have seen and what the government is reporting. ....simple explanation..........things that matter for large majority of people are NOT reflected in inflation numbers.......on purpose of course......so inflation numbers are meaningless but manipulated as needed. by the way......the Chinese Buffet I started frequenting after my longtime favorite one went out of business last year has now also folded up shop........another one of those skip out of town over the weekend specials......went there on MLK holiday and noted they were closed. ....called them when I got home and some guy tells me ....will be closed 6 months for complete renovations......Ha LOL!.......called a week later and the phone is disconnected......so now there are NO Chinese Buffets within any reasonable driving distance......what an economic recovery.
