I would certainly substitute Austin for Rochester. What's happening in Rochester to get it on the list?

Well, I'm living here in Salt Lake City, #8. It has a lot to recommend it, a current 3.4% unemployment rate, populated by honest, nice people, with beautiful mountains all around it. Cost of living is low.

On the downside, those same beautiful mountains form a bowl that traps pollution, and when we get an inversion like we're currently having for the last three weeks, you're advised to stay inside, don't do anything too strenuous outside, don't drive if possible, and burning anything isn't allowed. It's usual to see bicycle commuters wearing heavy duty filter masks, as they might in China.
