Well, the presence of the Mayo Clinic certainly gives Rochester, MN a definite boost. I spent about a week there because a relative had an operation and then a recovery period. I would hardly call it anything special beyond Mayo.

On the Austin question, I wonder if it missed because of population--too many folk.

My wife and I were in Austin again this last weekend for a conference at St. Edwards U. We are still aglow from just being in the city. We ate Mexican food every day and night for 3 days. Miss it already, even though we have plenty of Tex-Mex in Dallas. Menudo for breakfast is the way to go.
