FDR showed how it needs to be done. Get the social programs going and empower the unions. He has done nothing with the unions that I know of. I liked you analogy: if you want to get something accomplished everyone has to get on one side and push. That is such a good mental image. It does no good to stand in the middle. If he really wants to know how to attack income inequality one would think he would ask Stiglitz and Krugman what to do. Stiglitz just wrote an entire book on income inequality; and Krugman has been pounding the real theory that is needed for years now. Massive stimulus!
