I was thinking more having union officials ( and politicians? ) agree to be constantly investigated and have their finances audited while serving, as a condition of accepting the position. I'm sure they'd figure ways around it. ( Has anyone audited Cheney lately? I'm pretty sure all his compensation from Halliburton for Iraq was paid on the back end. )
