Z, not rediculous at all. It's not unusual for brokers to make a stock unmarginable when it has a big one-day drop like this. This will likely be the case for only a couple of days.

The risk at this point would seem to be primarly on the short side. :)

In any case, brokers are perfectly within their rights to remove the marginability of stocks in order to protect themselves and their customers from loss. "It's a privlege, not a right", etc. yadda yadda...
