<<<< We've got plenty of wealth here>>>>

What do you count as wealth? Money? A thriving manufacture base? Hoards of gold? Huge stockpiles of resources?

My comment had to do with resources. Originally America was an unopened box full of resource treasures. Their extraction was originally very easy and so most people were rewarded. Today the easy to get at resources are gone - we have the saved up result of those resources (the fumes if you will). We also have a huge infrastructure BUT I don't think that as an asset any more. I now think of it as a liability - something that has to be maintained. Look around you and tell me what you think makes us wealthy?
