Misfeasance... and whores. I don't know what else you CAN call it, when you see a politician directing the "scientists", while telling them what the results of "the science" have to be... in order to sustain their funding. Simply the fact that relationship is apparent... provides a proof that $ and "the team" matter more than the proper conduct or the honest result of actual science. It is simple corruption conducted on a massive scale... to apply science fraud as a policy tool. The politicians know we don't, can't, and shouldn't trust them... so they're "re-branding" their totalitarianism by co-opting the brand of "science"... because people still trust it. "I don't think environmentalists are promoting the scam on purpose." Of course they are. But, "environmentalism" isn't a construct based in realism or on "caring for the environment"... rather than one based in POLITICS, first, that has at its core a POLITICAL construct, not anything formed by reason. It is "policy requirements" (of particular political interests) that drive the need for creating the belief that is structured, not the rational development of a set of beliefs, which then drives the development of policy. It's simply a cabal of politicians who have developed an ego based form of marketing, that intends to enable its victims in feeling good about themselves by subscribing to a political identity. The fraud is based on the political... claiming, first, that those who agree with us are the only ones that care... and people who disagree with us... "don't care"... so, we can validate ignoring their opinions, marginalizing them, putting them in concentration camps, killing them, etc. There is nothing new, here. Otherwise, you are exactly correct that there are cadres of dupes operating on blind faith while gladly following the false Gods that have been created for them... which is the sort of stupidity that enables converting "caring" more than others into a need to kill others in order to care for them properly. "Science" as it is operated, in this construct, is not about reason, but is operated as a religion, fully dependent on the ignorance of believers being paired with blind faith... to enable advancing the power of a religion in which the politicians can re-write the doctrines and the core beliefs of the faith... at their whim. The irony, of course, is that real science IS based in reason... and what this process does is convert people's excess faith in reason... into a tool that has them believing in anything... (perhaps even including that "Coke Cares"?) Reason is still a sound enough concept... but, it has never been the case that it is infallible... because the operators of the process are the weak link. It is also still fact that most people aren't ever overly capable of reasoning correctly, while another significant portion of the population are deliberate liars... who believe that enabling themselves in having power... is an more than adequate reason to justify telling lies... All of the people, some of the time... Some of the people, all of the time... And, what we're talking about is merely the purposeful method in which the last influences the first.

More clearly... Any scientist who agrees to accept funding that is based on his tacit acceptance of a requirement limiting the nature of the questions that will be asked, and defining the result of the work in advance... is a whore. Science... is about determining and then asking the right questions. The method provides answers, over time, when operated properly... unless bias or other error in understanding is allowed to dominate what observations of the facts reveals. The process you are observing bears no resemblance to that. Here, politicians define the right answers, first, then pay cadres of scientists (or, whores) to validate that "answer"... without there ever BEING a risk imposed in the result due to a properly framed question. That's how you arrive at crap like this: dailymail.co.uk It appears 9000 studies asking the wrong questions... still provides wrong answers ? Science... depends on the proof in predictions being validated. Here, their predictions don't work... which doesn't stop them from saying they have a "comprehensive understanding of the physical science basis of climate change"... ? But, if you take them at their word as having "proven" that CO2 causes climate change, you're forced to recognize that an initial 10% increase in CO2 causes warming, but proceeding to a more than a 10% change in CO2 causes cooling. They can just as easily (and equally as fraudulently) claim that creates a crisis as CO2 forces us into a new ice age ? It is a lie that they have "comprehensive understanding of the physical science basis of climate change". If they had that sort of understanding, then, their predictions would work. They don't. So, when they claim "The report provides information about what has changed in the climate system, why it has changed, and how it will change in the future"... that's also a lie. Being scientists... they KNOW its a lie... because they KNOW their predictions don't work. Politicians, obviously, don't care about the scientists lies... since they're the ones paying them to tell them. However, "Perhaps most controversially, the report it says that humans are between 95 per cent and 100 per cent to blame for the warming of the planet since the mid 20th Century and this level of certainty among scientists is a boost from the 2007 report, which said that global warming was ‘very likely’ to have been caused by humans." So, how do you get from unavoidable awareness that the predictions of their theory fail... with growing awareness on the part of the public that the scientists have been lying... to an INCREASE in certainty, by the scientists themselves, that the predictions are correct ? The obvious answer, as the prior post showed, is... they're PAID to provide the wrong answers... so they do. And, they're not going to be paying those who do provide honest answers... and they have thus removed honest scientists them from the population of the increasingly certain "scientists" being polled. "Scientists" will also gladly prove that smoking is good for you... if you pay them to do that ? And, should you feign surprise, when you poll the scientists paid by tobacco companies... and discover they agree more, over time, that smoking is good for you ? FWIW, CFC's don't cause holes in the ozone layer, either... That was also bogus science... flogged for purpose... based on predictions about things that weren't understood all that well at the time. There is a PATTERN you can see being applied... That effort worked so well... they've extended that model to fraud in "global warming" science... which first taxes people to create the lies, then forces them into being fed the lies they've paid to create... intending to alter their ECONOMIC behavior, and get them to agree to make changes in laws... which create new opportunities to exploit people, when the older (and better) ways have become less profitable. What banning CFC's does... is require using newer refrigerants that are much less efficient, and vastly more expensive... and vastly more profitable. The corporations that make them... funded the science, and the politics. "Environmentalists"... are funded by corporations... to enable the enhancement of corporate profitability by forcing the extraction of more money from poor people. We're all being made serfs on the corporate global estate... The intended result... is to cut people who don't agree with them out of access to the manipulated market. The lack of a free market, then, is a political tool that intentionally shifts wealth from those who create it... to those who organize to steal it, and re-allocate it to cronies based on the "rules" they create. Free markets... prevent tyranny. Tyrants... Kings and Communists (and corporations, if allowed)... prevent free markets. A free market consists of two things: The absence of fraud. The prevention of limits in market access. The legitimate role of government... is to prevent and punish fraud... and to prevent the success of and punish those who seek to impose limits on market access. But, what we're talking about... is the application of fraud... to structure limits in market access. And, it is the government doing it... They don't CARE that the overall result is economic suicide... impoverishing everyone. Because... THEY will get more... from you getting less ? You need to see the whole picture... understanding it isn't a fraud that is occurring in isolation, only because a couple of blindly passionate people are mistaken... It doesn't matter that they think they care more, about your family, than you do ? It only matters that they are enabling fraud... in order to subvert markets... in order to enslave you.
