Energy Weekly: Natural Gas Passes Stress Test, But US Running
Low on Everything — Low energy inventories should keep US
markets bid. Tokyo election result is a win for Japan’s nuclear
power industry
10 February 2014 ¦ 18 pages ir.citi.com

The extreme winter in the US boosted US natural gas demand to over 100 Bcf/d
in January. The results of this stress test of the US natural gas markets should
be encouraging to potential buyers of US LNG concerned about the sustainability
of low US gas prices. The spike to over $5 still left a healthy $12/MMBtu spread
to spot Asian LNG prices over January.
