I don't think the article Kelly posted is entirely relevant to this conversation-- judging from the date
I pointed out that it was dated. What I was looking for was the number of iPhone users that also own another iDevice since Ryan was contending that an iWatch would be redundant and he had a hard time seeing 1/10 of iPhone users also owning an iWatch. The article backed my thought that iDevice owners own other iDevices and/or other Mac products.

Personally, we have 3 iPhones, 2 iPads, 2 iPods, as well as a couple of Macs. Adding an iWatch to that would be no big deal at all and would definitely happen if the price point was not outrageous and the iWatch added some convenience or perceived benefit to my life.

So, it has been stated on this board that there is no way that 10% of iPhone users would by an iWatch (with no evidence to back that up). I am presenting evidence that it may actually be possible. It is a point of relevance as determining market size for any new Apple product is relevant if you have an investment in Apple.

Speaking of iPhone accessories, I was expecting a bigger revenue contribution from Apple's new iPhone cases. I think all accessories combined for $1.8B in the Dec qtr, which means that less than 1 in 10 iPhone buyers out the door got the Apple branded case (and probably much less than that, judging from historical accessory sales figures, which are similar). Fickle lot, those Apple fans :)
They should make an iPhone case that makes the iPhone look like an Android phone. Now *that* would sell like hotcakes!

um psylent,

there are now more than 500K iPhone and iPad users
It would help if you named the city those 500k live in. Some areas of the planet have more early adopters than others.

Sorry, couldn't help myself.
