Apple Is A Steal Even At $700Michael Nielsen - Feb. 5, 2014 7:49 AM ET Long/short equity, special situations, momentum, contrarianPotential Trade: Buy Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) around $500 | Stop-loss: $450| Target: $780
Why do these guys always focus on how the share price can appreciate without focusing upon what makes share price appreciate: profit growth. What is he assuming Apple will earn in the coming year? The next? If they can grow earnings to $45, then $50, and so on, then $600 or even approaching $700 looks possible. But he doesn't address the very real probability that their earnings will contract. If that happens, $500 is very expensive.
