My main point is that it's logical to look at stocks from a private equity perspective. This is why I said mindset of a capital allocator. An investor looking to own a business contributes capital, which ties to the company's economic resources. The investor, who is now the owner, benefits by receiving earnings. The difference in the market is that you're buying ownership interest from someone else, but you're still an owner and have a claim on the company's residual assets.
