Addressing a point you made yesterday: You questioned what I said regarding market share and profits. Profits have been stagnant, not declining, over the past year. As someone else pointed out, you can adjust for buybacks and the like and manipulate the result a little bit either way, but what I meant is that no matter how you view it, they haven't increased substantially over the past year. That's not my opinion... I'm just going by the numbers Apple has released. You also claimed that I was incorrect about market share declines. That, too, isn't my opinion. To be clear: I'm talking about global market share for iOS. There are certainly regions where it has increased (as Slacker pointed out - Japan being a notable one) where it is increasing, but globally it is declining slowly while Android is gaining at a much greater clip. I believe Slacker and someone else explained this to you, so I won't rehash, but if you have different stats or something that points to the ones I shared being amiss, please share. Also, I understand that your position is that regardless of what market share is doing, it's not that meaningful... I don't agree, but that's a fair point you can certainly argue, including what you said about many Android devices having "forked" versions.
"that generated a hardy laugh" In English it's "a hearty laugh"
Whoooosh.... (That's the sound of the humor in my response to Herb going over your head, in English.) :)
