To all:
MMV-PD12/11/97
* WSJ sheds light on IBM eps scam in their Herd on the Street coulumn. Without the share buyback scam the 1997 eps is up only 5.1% and without the buybacks and lowere taxrate eps is up only 1%. Earlier I pointed out that the book value was actually down 3% in the year while the stock was up more than 100%. Wakeup, HITS bulls!

* MicroAge (MICA) noted that it has a higher-than-expected inventory of Compaq computers and that Compaq had approached it and other distributors about taking more product. WSJ 12/11/97 To be fair to Steve, he alerted us on this news much ahead of many. Of course, today MICA said that it's comments were taken out of context. Yeah. Yeah.

* Headline in Section C of WSJ: After Oracle Misfire, Wall Street's Research is Blasted. Enough said.

BTW, MMV-PD12/11/97 - is my code for later easy search. -g-

Joan,

You are asking another engineer? We are the guys that got the world in this mess by doing our jobs too well and building too much capacity.
