<<For those of you who haven't been around here very long,...>>>

I so wish we had all been here on SI in 1993 and 1994 when I was just starting to accumulate Presstek and the "experts", "know-it-all smart-a**es" and "professionals" were trying to save me from making a mistake with my investments. We experienced days like we're experiencing today. We experienced news that would for sure finish this company, something like we're supposed to be experiencing today. Let me run down some of my trades at that time. Let's remember that there have been 3 splits; 5 for 4, 2 for 1 and 2 for 1. I'll be showing my adjusted cost basis:

2-25-94 - $6.15
3-24-94 - $7.30
4-14-94 - $5.60
4-21-94 - $3.90
5-12-94 - $4.65
8-5-94 - $8.06
9-23-94 - $10.31
12-29-94 - $12.76
2-3-95 - $11.13
4-17-95 - $20.02

Notice the volatility! 50% swings were not unheard of! The same kind of things being said now were being said then. I had to be some kind of an idiot to be taking such risks! I'm sure there was a Larry Ricker-type telling me about their "shorted that one at $20 and its now $1" success stories.....or a Brent-like "IN MY OPINION, you are crazy for buying PRST today.".....or maybe even another Paul (God forbid) advising me "the market is dumping, which causes people to jump from speculative high P/E stocks such as Presstek." As I am today, I ignored the advice because I felt that their advice was much shorter term than my investment objective and I aggressively bought more! Three years from now, let's all meet back here and compare our profits!!!

As for Mr. Ricker boasting that he "has a small short position that is rather profitable", I'll only say that I was stepping over obstacles such as this when I accumulated my first million, I was still stepping over obstacles such as this when I accumulated my 50th million and I continue to step over obstacles such as this today. That's why I'm buying stock at these prices from some poor schmuck that honestly believes the Rickers, the Brents, the Pauls and the Pierres of the world honestly know what they're talking about when most of those giving the advice have never made their first million. Go figure.....

Who said "You should consider this when deciding whether or not to take her recommendation"?

Love and kisses,

Nanny
