That also points out another, larger issue... Because, the institution of science, already problematic enough in how it operated in fact, as opposed to theory, has been further corrupted, to the point of being broken... by the effort made to practice politically motivated frauds under the "brand' of science... "Reputation" in science... clearly is not being made dependent on the quality of one's work... or demonstrated capacity for operating the process of reasoning... or anything else that actually connects the concept of reason to rewards. "Science" as an institution... has proven unequal to the task of weeding out obvious fraud... while political bias has been allowed to dominate reason, even to the degree that reason is despised. Under the model now practiced, "science" has become just another government funded political advocacy "charity" being operated against the public interest... and, against its own institutional interest... willfully violating its fundamental precepts in favor of funding... Maybe some will prefer that... to calling them whores ?
