I believe moving one line to the new plant was a great idea. In the 10Q they descriped the approval process. Factory was inspected on feb and march 97, inpectors issued form 483, VVUS responded in 30 days. Then in april and may they provided additional information. Plant was reinspected in august and september. It looks like this process is taking forever. Also there are certain covenents in their agreement with Astra( i don't know what they are), Astra paid them $2million after UK approval, I bet one of the requirements in their egreement is timely product delivery and it all depends on getting approval for THE NEW PLANT. IF Reducing production by 25% in one quarter will help the approval it is a very smart decision.
The good thing about the management is they are doing what they are supposed to do, produce and sell.
I expect (if they get aproval) they can doube their sales to $70-80 in the next quarter.
I tried to info abou inentory, only one I got was for December 96 and June 97, which were $4.540million and $5.18million respectively, this clearly tells that they are selling whatever they make, turnover rate of 20 is very imressive for me.
I believe they are using some of $100million to buy back their shares now
Inventory for september quarter was $6.212million. no build up at all.

Brad,

ROFL! I needed some humor, big time.

Additionally, for those who are interested, Herb Greenberg had a piece on VVUS today in his daily column:
sfgate.com

I generally respect his bearish opinions and think he has a lot of integrity. Many people disagree with me, however. This is in contrast to my feelings about Asensio- I follow his activities quite closely, and although he is often correct in his short pannings with regard to the big picture, he is frequently completely wrong when it comes to details, and his integrity is questionable at best. I also think he has completely blown it on ZONA, but I may be wrong.

As far as Greenberg is concerned, at least he got the part right about revenues predicted to be down about 25% from the previous quarter- Paul Kangas last night on NBR completely screwed that one up when he said that revenue was to be down 25% from the same quarter last year. On top of everything else we now have to contend with obvious, simple screw-ups in the main strem press (eg. Reuters, NBR). :-( You might also bet your remaining equity in VVUS that they won't bother to fix their errors. Alas....

Eagerly anticipating the conference call, I am
Anaxagoras

Bradpalm1,

I know it's junk, and the editors of The Lancet bear responsibility
for publishing it, and Reuters (British, aren't they?) should learn what a kilogram is. Jeez!!! I'm a consulting risk analyst,
and have done a lot of research-type work. I can read between
the lines, but most people who read the news can't.

I'm assuming you're a doctor. Have you tried Muse yourself?
Have patients reported any problems getting their prescriptions
filled due to supply shortages? Is Muse in the formulary
of the HMOs/PPO-Plans in your area? Have patients reported any
dissatisfaction with either the drug's effectiveness or
the delivery mechanism?

Cheers, David
