Kathleen, I guess there was a lot of the "show me"/denial factor w/ the equipment players and the KLIC news comes as the first (?) dose of some unpleasant reality. I don't know if Niles is clever/"evil" enough to smirk <g> IMHO, his problem, and he's not the only one, seems to be an inability to take what company management gives him and disagree. And then on the flip-side you get a guy like Kurlak who just pulls the plug on the whole sector for 1-2 years (don't know if he covers Kent Electronics, but ML downed that today; probably not the best time in the world to be a distributor). If Kurlak lasts until December 1998 without issuing a single upgrade, I'll show up on the ML trading floor, douse myself in gasoline, and he can light the match...okay, wait a second...what do I get out of that deal? On second thought cancel that offer...then again, if Tom Kurlak is so confident in his predictions how about making it reciprocal? <g> Good trading, Tom
