QTWW $600 a share down to $6 is not a good trend. The name seems dodgy too: <Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide Inc.> I have never heard of them. I shall now become a 5 minute expert.

Four minutes later, herewith my expert opinion. QFSTW will be a bust. Well, it has already bust compared with $600 a share so that's not much of a prediction.

CNG tanks is apparently their business, presumably along with pipes, valves and stuff.

CNG for trucks is a bad idea. Trucks work well on diesel, which provides lots of energy per litre.

Methane is better used to upgrade tar and aromatic, olefinic goop by hydrogenation to diesel or gasoline.

Rather than invest in trucks and cars to use methane directly, it would be better to put that money into huge factories which can sit on the end of methane pipelines turning tar from a Keystone pipeline or an Orinoco shipment into diesel or jet fuel.

Sell Quantum whatsit.

Before I run out of editing time, burning the tars and methane in a power station to generate electricity for battery powered Halo cars [by Qualcomm] would be better still. Power stations are very efficient compared with diesel vehicles because thermodynamics favours very large stationary energy conversion, where heat exchangers can be enormous, waste heat can be used more easily, thermodynamic efficiencies are greater and it's easier to maintain a dirty great "engine" in a power station, than millions of little ones. A big one is cheaper too. The Halo cars should have swappable batteries - 7 second swaps. That way, when needing a recharge, the usual waiting time can be avoided completely. The Tesla superchargers are not going to work because even if the recharge is fast, people won't want to wait for their turn at the charger, maybe in a line of 5 cars.

Any scientist who says it is "settled science" that CO2 causes global warming... is being dishonest.

Truth is... we don't know the sources of variation, and can't predict change, or the impact of change ? The failure of the predictions of a theory... proves it wrong. The effort to learn... is not advanced by those who refuse to be truthful, and obstruct truth in others... because of social coercion or political fealty.

The science isn't settled. That's proven by, and is the reason why, the predictions of the theory have failed.
But, the Nazi's running the global warming fraud with scientists help... have also been enabled in destroying academic freedom and free speech...

Being unfaithful to the facts and untrue in your obligations to the profession... makes you a bad person, and a liar... but it doesn't make you a whore... until you take the money. If the choice is... be a whore, and do and say exactly what the customer wants... or don't get paid ? That all the whores are doing it... doesn't make them not whores ? If you are a scientist, and your attachment to your paycheck... is greater than your attachment to the truth, academic freedom, and free speech... you are a whore.

That's a minor point, still. The lack of integrity revealed in the way the debate has been conducted... and the effort made, in the name of science, to try to silence any opposing opinion, any dissent, or any debate about the science... even though the FACTS clearly back the dissenters... while the advocates clearly have been perpetrating fraud ? The whores doing only what they're told, are the good guys... compared to those slimy intolerant Luddites conducting the Inquisition that has been trying to silence debate and dissent. The cast of sycophants and cowards in the academy who tolerate the inquisitors... also worse than whores ?

It matters less what you think might be the case in terms of the impact of changing CO2 levels... than what you have as a commitment to truth and truthful conduct of process, in what you think and do and say. Maybe, think about that.. while cooperating in persecuting heretics who defy the self appointed high priests, as they are trying to prevent freedom of speech in the academy, in order to eliminate any source of objectivity ? Refusing to say what you think... even about the integrity of the process of science... while academic freedom is being destroyed ?

Many scientists are much worse than the whores that reason shows them to be...

The artificially inflated status enjoyed by those who claim to be the high priests of reason... won't survive the proofs that the high priests are irrational fools cooperating in conducting a witch hunt ?

Cut to Monty Python: "She's a witch... burn her" ?

I'm in QTWW and am waiting/hoping/expecting a run to 12, maybe 18.
Hahaha.. Me too.. Also in CPST and BLDP..

But let's understand the current alternative energy push, IMO..

Right now it's not as focused on Hydrogen as an alternative fuel.. That's a bit down the road, IMO..

But it IS about CNG, and lowering transportation costs, which make up a large part of economic costs.

It's also a national security issue (ala T. Boone Picken's argument)..

We have a crap load of NG right now. And eventually we'll see Hydrogen as a potential replacement alternative. But it requires a distribution network (pipelines.. storage.. etc).. And I believe that NG distribution networks can be readily converted to handling Hydrogen at some point in the future.

Hydrogen will require continued Gov't subsidization to come to fruition (and some serious electricity production upgrades to produce it in quantity).

But fuel cells can also run on NG (FCEL, PLUG, BLDP.. etc).. And they have the added benefit of producing copious amounts of waste heat that can be captured and used for other purposes.

I'm a believer in CPST because it just makes sound economic sense to capture flared NG plumes and converting them into another form of usable energy (electricity.. etc)..
