OT and perhaps I shouldn't... I don't quite understand the tendency of lower income Americans to vote Republican. Isn't that the 1%-screw-the-little-guy party? Is it because everyone in lower income brackets is sold on the "do it yourself, we don't need no stinking government and their social services and support" American dream? Or is it because there's only two parties and if you're poor socially conservative you're forced to vote for economic pro-rich?

Or maybe I am incorrectly generalizing. :) Sorry then. :)

If this evolves into flame war, I apologize preemptively and won't post OT again.

I've noticed most expensive real estate markets tend to vote Democratic. Naples, FL is about the only exception I am aware of.. Even San Diego went for Obama though barely.. The big Texas cities are now blue so a housing bubble there is a certainty<g>

SD, OC and Santa Barbara are considered the conservative areas of S. CA. SD, the city, has gotten more liberal as its gotten more diverse but its suburbs are still pretty conservative [by CA standards]. Remember there are 30K military stationed in SD.

Having said that, I suspect most Rs have a hard accepting their CA brethren.
