Not to say that some members of Detroit's government haven't been corrupt, but the factors weighing against that are much more complex than that.
Sure, but I didn't want to burden Alex with the complex details. He's of the opinion that anyone who was against bailing out Detroit must be "stuck on stupid."

By the way, the city of Detroit and the auto industry are NOT two different things. That's like saying the city of San Francisco and the high-tech industry are two different things.
