Any connection to global warming, in that ? Not really... unless you want to layer in a discussion of how "policy" changes driven by fraud practiced in the U.S. or the E.U. will force reductions in fossil fuel consumption in China, India, and the rest of the developing world ?

Economic efficiency isn't incompatible with optimizing the impacts of (system level) decisions... including the most extended elements apparent in wrongful cost transfer enabled through pollution. But, free markets are the only functional solution to those problems of economic inefficiency... while other choices instead operate to sustain the existing inhibitions to free market functions... which only preserve the power, $ and control of the existing corporate elite by defending the elements in the status quo they most depend upon.

The corporate aristocracy are invested in preventing any change in technology that would allow you to stop paying them residuals and royalties on their control... even if change occurring means those payments really aren't necessary, or if change means it would make more sense to pay someone else, instead. Otherwise, they're similarly invested in obstructing change to limit the potential pace of change to one which enables them to co-opt any unwanted free market impacts... stealing the benefits of innovation, without any risk market choices will disrupt their control ?

Global warming dupes... advocate to benefit the corporate aristocracy more... by centralizing power more.

So, you will note, even though changing technology might enable greater INDEPENDENCE from the "grid based" systems they desperately want to engineer and have you pay for... the "approved solutions" will always require fostering greater DEPENDENCE... even when doing so costs more, and is obviously LESS efficient than every other alternative. If a new technology enables saving 90% of the cost of a prior function... they will obstruct implementation, steal the technology, and implement it only gradually... without ever passing the savings along... which is why the aristocracy gets richer, and every one else gets poorer, faster.

The policy "solutions" offered by global warming advocates... are all intended to foster INCREASING centralization while further distancing power from accountability, each necessary for increasing control. Enabling that control means they are increasing your dependence on their systems... to the point where they think you can't get along without them... which is exactly what the warming advocates corporate masters want. It is essentially serfdom being re-imposed through a restructured economic system... not based on land, now, rather than industry... but still based on control... which still means the lords of the system take the bulk of what the serfs produce.

The only dispute that exists between Kings and Communists (and, Corporations)... is who should be King.
They don't disagree on destroying your freedom, requiring your dependency, or imposing control over you ?

The more people go along with them... the less most people will benefit... the poor will get poorer, and the rich will become fewer in % number, but they will get richer faster... because that is exactly what that design intends. And, hey, look at that... that's exactly what's been happening... with the "managed market" crowd in power.

Freedom works... and, free markets work... only when there is an absence of fraud, and no obstruction that prevents market access.

So, not surprising... that when policy is based in fraud, and advances itself through fraud, with a design to enable new and larger frauds that benefit some at others expense... you won't have the benefits of freedom ?

And, the only alternative to freedom... is NOT freedom... or, tyranny ?

It doesn't matter whether it is Kings, Communists or Corporations... practicing their frauds, obstructing access to free markets, stripping you of your rights, fostering dependency, controlling you ? They want you to believe that it does matter... while quibbling over who should be King... while it doesn't matter whether it is a King, a Communist, or a Corporation that is stealing from you, defrauding you, enslaving you ?

The political choice... is for freedom... or against freedom. Fraud... means "against freedom".

For a warehouse - it's exhaust fumes and not carrying a tank of liquid fuel around.

For commercial trucks cng/lpg is quite popular and growing.
autoblog.com

I really think the electric car/truck is doomed to niche applications until they can figure out fast charging technologies - like under 15 minutes.

Hybrid fuel cars are the only practical (electric) choice today - but with gas prices dropping - the economics of that choice dim significantly.

In 2008 my friend bought a Prius and I bought a Honda Fit - assuming we both have 120K miles and I get 30 mpg and he gets 50.

Me: 120,000/30 = 4000 gals
Him: 120,000/50 = 2400 gals

I bought 1600 more gallons of gas than he has since 2008 - at a generous $4/gal - that's $6,400 I've spent more than he has. But his car cost him $30K in 2008 and I spent $17k - so he has still outspent me by about $7K - so it'll take another 120,000 miles/6 years to reach break even.

PS: I own a GMC Z71 K1500, not a ford. :-)
